Packaging / Design

Now this is a very nice idea for a tin case, even though the size and overall proportions feel a bit weird.

For those of you who don't get it, this case is made to look like a gasoline can, most likely meant as a refernce to a certain torture scene seen in the film.

The tin box is very detailed and top comes of to reveal a specially designed digipack hidden inside.

The digi is however not under-sized as the gasoline can, but insanely oversized as it comes in the form of gigantic match-box, labeled with the classic Uncle Bob's Pancake House logo printed on it.

All in all a very clever case incporporating some very fresh and unusual ideas.

Disc contents / Extras

There's quite a lot of extras but the overall timespan isn't too long. Still, they manage to get quite a lot into the time the have and it's a decent special edition with some good and some bad, so I'm ok with it.

There's some new extras in comparison to the older special editions, but there's also a few lacking so I don't know what to make of it.

The sound is however remastered and now available as a brand new DTS ES track, and some audio dialogue errors that were present on the older releases has also been fixed.

All in all, I think this is the best version of the film so far, even though a true fan might want to pick up more editions than one to get the full range of extras.
