Packaging / Design

This release comes with the same slipcase-design as most other regions but only the Thai version has the slight edge by replacing the common keepcases with two individual 2 disc digipacks.

The overall slipcase design doesn't feel to hot due to the bizarre choice of the printed border-promotion (with the miniture cover images) but the design for the digipacks makes up for this ever so slightly.

All in all probably the best combo-edition so far but still not very impressive as far as the packaging goes.

Disc contents / Extras

The first movie (discs 1 and 2) comes with pretty much the same special features as most other regions. The only release that seems to be better is the australian limited edition with a third disc but except for this they all seem the same.

The menu system is made up of an interactive comicbook. This is quite a nice choice but unfortunetly, this thailand editions has all the menus translated into Thai (yes, the comic book menu is COMPLETLY TRANSLATED even though the imagery is identical to all other regions). This makes navigation a living hell if you don't know the language.

Discs 3 and 4 are devoted to The Dark Knight and just as with the first film and extras are identical to all other regions.

All in all I think what's mainly missing from both films is a good set of commentaries but apart from this it's a pretty nice set up.

Sidenotes

The Dark Knight has been released in several other version on the Thai market as well but the digipacks in this set were never available separately.

There was a limited edition digipack, slipcase and comic for The Dark Knight earlier on but this digipack was different from the one we see here.

A regular keepcase edition was also availalbe for The Dark Knight, as well as a keepcase/slipcase version and an alternate keepcase version with a cell-phone jewelry attachment.

Ooh! I love digipak releases and would love to get this too.. but then again, I already have BB as a 3-disc digipak (R4) and DK as a 2-disc steelbook (R2). Oh the difficulty of double dipping!!
